Inspection of Abstract of Accounts Notice

FALKIRK COUNCIL Inspection of Abstract of Accounts, Falkirk Temperance Trust and Pension Fund Accounts 2018/19

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN in accordance with the provisions of Section 101 of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 and Section 9 of the Local Authority Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2014 as follows:-

  1. INSPECTION OF ACCOUNTS

            One copy of Falkirk Council’s Unaudited Abstract of Accounts, Falkirk Council Pension Fund Unaudited Abstract of Accounts and Falkirk Temperance Trust Accounts for the financial year ended 31 March, 2019 duly made up, balanced and signed, will be deposited at Falkirk Municipal Buildings. In addition, a copy of the Council’s and the Temperance Trust Accounts will be placed on the Council’s website: www.falkirk.gov.uk and a copy of the Pension Fund Accounts placed on website www.falkirkpensionfund.org

  1. RIGHT TO INSPECT ACCOUNTS

            Any person interested may inspect the Accounts to be audited and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating thereto and make copies of all or any part of the Accounts and those other documents.

            The Unaudited Accounts will be open for inspection at Falkirk Municipal Buildings on any weekday from Thursday 27 June, 2019 to Wednesday 17 July 2019 inclusive between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. Any persons wishing to inspect the other documents specified above should make enquiry at Corporate & Housing Services, Finance Office, Municipal Buildings, Falkirk.

           Any person who is unable to attend at the time and places aforementioned, should make written application to the Chief Finance Officer, Municipal Buildings, Falkirk, FK1 5RS and alternative arrangements may be made.

  1. RIGHT TO OBJECT TO ACCOUNTS

            Any person interested may object to the Accounts or to any part of the accounts by:-

(a)        sending the objection, in writing, together with a statement of the grounds thereof to Stephen Reid, Ernst & Young LLP, G1 Building, 5 George Square, Glasgow, G2 1DU and to the Controller of Audit, Accounts Commission, 4th Floor, 102 West Port, Edinburgh EH3 9DN not later than Thursday 18 July 2019.

(b)       sending copies of that objection and statement to the Chief Finance Officer, Municipal Buildings, Falkirk, FK1 5RS and to the Officer of the Authority who may be concerned.

  1. OBJECTION PROCEDURE

            Where any person objects to the Accounts, the Auditor shall, if so requested by that person, afford to that person, the opportunity of appearing before and being heard by the Auditor with respect to that objection, and any such person may so appear and be heard either personally or by a representative.
